Participants are picked up from their hotel between 8:00 and 8:30. The trip starts out by heading out of Reykjavík, through Mosfellsdalur toward Þingvellir National Park, home of the worlds oldest Parliament, located on top of the tectonic plate junction between the Eurasian tectonic plate and the North American tectonic plate. After Þingvellir the path leads us to one of the biggest waterfalls in iceland, the spectacular Gullfoss. With a height of 32 meters and a flow rate of 130 cubic meters per second. We will also see Geysir, walk through a geothermally active area and see Strokkur geyser erupt and spout boiling water 20 meters into the air. The tour will then head on towards Urriðafoss waterfall located in Icelands longest river, Þjórsá glacier river. With an impressive flow rate of 360 cubic meters per second, it holds the title of Icelands most voluminous waterfall. Driving through south Iceland will also bring us within the magnificent view of the now world famous Eyjafjallajökull glacier. Below the roots og Eyjafjallajökull and the highlands of southern Iceland lies Reynisfjara beach. Reynisfjara is a vast black sand beach with a thriving birdlife, awe-inspiring, powerful tides and a view of Dyrhólaey cape. From Reynisfjara beach we will start working our way towards Reykjavík, on our war to the capital we will stop at Seljalandsfoss waterfall, where you can walk behind and enjoy viewing it from a whole different view. The waterfall is lit up during wintertime which makes the spectacle even more stunning.
